Travelling on a Thalys train
For high-speed rail travel from Paris to Amsterdam, Brussels and Cologne, Thalys is the obvious choice. Thalys is fast and reliable. The company’s bold red styling creates strong brand presence on a tight network of business routes. But Thalys is good for leisure travel too, with competitive pricing and excellent connections with Eurostar at its Brussels hub.
Thalys runs year-round direct trains from Paris to Brussels and a dozen other stations in Belgium, the Netherlands and the Rhine-Ruhr area of Germany. Additional services speed from Amsterdam and Brussels to Lille and seasonally to the French Alps and Provence.
Using single-deck TGV-style trains with assertive branding, Thalys appeals to the international business and leisure markets. Thalys trains are sleek and spacious and currently offer two classes of seating. These are called Comfort 2 and Comfort 1. For journeys from 10 December 2017, there will be a choice of three classes: Standard, Comfort and Premium. Tickets for the new three-tier class trains will go on sale in mid-September 2017.
Advance seat reservation is mandatory for all journeys – it is included in the price of your ticket.
