  1. The fastest high-speed TGV trains travel non-stop from Marseille to Paris. Most trains make two stops along the way, extending the journey time by about 15 minutes. This is France’s premier high-speed rail route. A journey which used to take the best part of a day can now be completed in a morning.

    The route runs north to cross the River Rhône east of Lyon. Then it skirts Burgundy and follows the high-speed line north-west through the chalklands of the Île de France to reach Paris.
