Travelling through south-west France by train, several routes converge on Hendaye, the very last railway station in France before the Spanish border. The tracks lead on over the bridge to Irun in Spain, but too few trains actually head on over into Spain.

    Your best bet for crossing the border is to take the Metro Donostialdea tram. It runs every 30 mins from the station forecourt, taking just a couple of minutes for the hop over to Spain. The tram continues from Irun to San Sebastián taking 37 mins for the full journey from Hendaye. You can't book these tickets online. You can simply arrive at the station and buy your ticket then.
