It is nowadays so easy to travel by train from Brussels to London. Comfortable Eurostar trains leave Brussels every hour or two throughout the day. The fastest Eurostar services take just over two hours to reach London.
Eurostar launched its Brussels to London service in 1994. More than two decades later, this rail route via the Channel Tunnel has taken the lion’s share of the market for travel between the two capitals.
Bookings for the Eurostar journey from Brussels to London normally open 180 days in advance of travel. Book early for the cheapest fares. Tickets purchased less than one month prior to travel may be pricey, but even there you may still find a good deal if you are flexible as to travel date and opt for off-peak trains. This is a route where the price of a return ticket may be less than the price of two singles so, if you plan to travel from Brussels to London and back again, its definitely worth booking both legs of your journey in a single transaction.
Brussels to London
Eurostar trains from Brussels to London depart from Brussels Midi station. You need to check in for your train about 45 minutes prior to departure. There are light-touch security checks, including a scan of all baggage, at Midi station. The Eurostar route runs west from Brussels, crossing the French border to reach Lille, where all Eurostar trains stop. Then it is a fast dash through Flanders to the Channel Tunnel. You’ll reach the tunnel portal about 65 minutes after leaving Brussels.
Emerging from the Channel Tunnel in Kent, the train cruises through gentle downland, bridging the Medway and then diving under the Thames to reach St Pancras Station in London. On their way to London, some Eurostar trains from Brussels stop at either Ashford International or Ebbsfleet International.
