We've teamed up with Italo to offer ticketless travel on Italy's top high-speed routes.
We're proud to announce a new collaboration with Italo, launched today, which gives Loco2 customers access to great value, ticketless travel on Italy's high-speed network. Simply receive a code to present to the inspector on the train, no printer required!
Italo operates high-speed trains between major cities in Italy, running at a top speed of 360km/hour. Launched in 2012, Italo has become famous for its bright red “Ferrari train”, and for becoming the first private operator in Italy to compete with the state-owned Trenitalia.
Italo operates two services:
- Turin-Salerno - stops in Milan, Reggio Emilia, Bologna, Florence, Rome and Naples
- Venice-Salerno - stops in Padova, Bologna, Florence, Rome and Naples

We started selling Italo services in 2013, but the new direct connection means we have a direct link to the rail operator and the best ticket prices. This includes tickets from Milan to Rome for just £24 one-way!
The trains have leather seating and ample legroom throughout, free Wi-Fi and power sockets for all passengers. Read more about what it's like onboard in our Italo train guide.

We’re really pleased to be working with Italo as train fares across Europe are driven down by increased competition to the benefit of passengers across the continent. With the north of Italy now easily accessible from the UK via France by Eurostar and TGV, rail is a more compelling alternative to high-carbon flights than ever before, even for longer-distance journeys.
Edmondo Boscoscuro, head of international sales at NTV, comments: “Working with companies that are bringing real change to online train booking is key to Italo’s vision for a more dynamic rail market. Loco2 is the perfect partner to help us reach customers who may otherwise choose to fly for their holidays. Together, we can demonstrate that rail travel is the transport of the future."
As always we're really grateful for feedback from our customers, so if you have any comments or questions please don't hesitate to leave a comment below or contact us.
