Bookings in Euros now available on Loco2

Booking is available on Loco2 in multiple currencies, allowing you to book in Euros or GBP according to your preference.

Until now we've sold tickets in one currency - British pounds (aka sterling or GBP). As a UK company this made sense when we were starting out, but as we’ve grown, so has our customer base.

We now have customers from over 140 countries, so it makes sense for us to sell tickets in multiple currencies. Euros was the obvious first choice!

From today, you can check prices and book tickets in Euros or Pounds. And unlike some of our competitors, we not only quote ticket prices, but also process payment in the currency you specify (this avoids any nasty surprises on your bank statement). What you see is what you pay!

Dual-currency booking means you can opt to pay in the local currency to be certain that tickets are the same price as booking direct with rail operators in the UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany

Alternatively, you can rely on our technology to secure a competitive price, thanks to exchange rates that are updated daily.

You can easily change the currency of your search results in one of two ways, depending on your device:

  • Desktop - You'll find a currency flipper at the top of the homepage and in search results.
  • Mobile - Account holders can change the default currency in our apps or mobile website in Account > Payment details.

Some rail operators, including Eurostar, set prices in more than one currency, with GBP and Euro prices that can differ substantially. In these cases, we let you book tickets in either currency so you can be sure you get the cheapest fare in a currency that suits you.

This may seem like a small change, but it has taken a huge amount of planning and hard work from our wonderful team, so well done to everyone involved, in particular Pat "Mr Finance" Holmberg and our very talented software engineers Eugene and Martin.

More currencies coming soon!
