Tickets released today for international high-speed trains from France throughout mainland Europe.
France's Trains de Grande Vitesse (TGV) are well known throughout Europe, many people remembering the first time these smooth, silver machines sped us across the country for the first time. Not as many people know about the international TGVs, however, which travel freely and fast across many of Europe’s borders, with Paris and Lyon the major hubs along the way.
Train tickets on these routes are released in stages, and if you want to travel from France to Italy, Switzerland, Germany or Spain this spring and summer, you will revel in today’s release, with some great early bird fares. This ticket release, for travel up to 1 September 2019, is for train journeys from France to the likes of Barcelona, Geneva, Munich and Milan.
Many of these journeys are much easier and quicker than you might think, with a direct Paris to Barcelona train, for example, taking just 6 hrs 30 mins, Paris to Geneva 3 hrs and Paris to Stuttgart just over 3 hrs.
