Grab some great value Eurostar fares between 14 - 23 May 2019, with prices from £29 one way to Brussels, £48 to Lyon and £52.50 to Avignon and Marseille if bought as a return ticket. With tickets available between London and Brussels but also Avignon TGV (do add the letters TGV when you do a search for Avignon on this route), Lyon and Marseille, your summer holidays horizon has just extended rather beautifully. As always, these go pretty quickly, and are available for travel between 07 June - 16 September if you are travelling south, and 04 June - 12 September if you are going to Brussels.
The direct journey from London to Marseille avoids Paris, heading south via Lille, Lyon and Avignon TGV. Between now and the end of August, it leaves London Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays (Sundays during July and August) at 07.19 hrs and arrives in Lyon at 13.00, Avignon at 14.08 and Marseille at 14.47. Marseille’s St. Charles station has views across this magnificent maritime city. A great place to take stock of the 1240km that you have just travelled.
Enjoy the start of the Tour de France in Brussels, go cycling from Lyon along the Via Rhôna long-distance cycling trail. You might also want to treat yourself to the Avignon Festival in July, one of Europe's most celebrated arts events, or head to Marseille, a city made for summer, where you can saunter around the Vieux Port, feast on fresh seafood and sip chilled local wine.
