Fastest journey3hr 5m
The fastest high-speed TGV trains travel non-stop from Marseille to Paris in just 3 hrs 5 mins. Most trains make two stops along the way, extending the journey time by about 15 minutes. This is France’s premier high-speed rail route. A journey which used to take the best part of a day can now be completed in a morning.
The route runs north to cross the River Rhône east of Lyon. Then it skirts Burgundy and follows the high-speed line north-west through the chalklands of the Île de France to reach Paris. Almost before you know it, you’ve swapped the scents and sounds of Provence for the hustle and bustle of the Franch capital.
Bookings for this route usually open three months in advance. However, during the summer season the booking horizon is usually extended so it’s possible to book earlier. The cheapest tickets are available when bookings first open.
