Preview Trenitalia on Loco2

24 February 2015

We're excited to announce a partnership with Italian national rail operator Trenitalia, bringing comprehensive Italian train ticket coverage to Loco2.

Over the past few months we've been busy connecting Loco2 to the booking system of the Italian national rail operator, Trenitalia. The new Trenitalia service will be officially launched on 3rd March, but registered users can get a sneak preview today:

This is our sixth major booking system integration, following France (SNCF), Germany (Deutsche Bahn), Spain (Renfe), the UK (ATOC/National Rail) and Italo, an alternative high-speed rail operator in Italy. Loco2 is now one of very few sites that offers both Trenitlia and Italo tickets in one place, meaning you're guaranteed to find the cheapest tickets and full range of departures for any Italian train journey.

And because our online booking coverage is unique - no other website offers such comprehensive European rail booking - it's now really easy to search and book long distance journeys (like Bradford to Bologna!) in one go.

What's new?

  • The integration vastly expands our coverage of Italy, adding more than 2,000 train stations. It also includes international services from Italy to Switzerland, Austria and Germany.
  • "Paperless" tickets are available for all high-speed and intercity routes. Simply present a ticket reference to the train conductor, with no printing required.
  • We've got access to loads of special offers, including ‘Super Economy’ fares, with discounts of up to 60% when booking in advance. See the full range of Italian train tickets, type and discounts in our guide.
  • We've added 24 new guides about trains to Italy, with popular destinations, recommended routes and tips for finding the cheapest tickets.

Feedback, suggestions, and high-fives are more than welcome, so please let us know what you think!
