Faster payments, better booking alerts and DIY refunds

Brand new features and tweaks to old favourites make booking train tickets quicker and easier.

Over the past few months we've been busy building new features, and tweaking old ones, to make booking train tickets quicker and easier. Here are a few highlights of the recent product improvements we’ve made.

Better booking alerts

Unlike air travel, rail can usually only be booked a few months in advance. It's easy to miss the cheapest tickets when they're released, so we developed booking alerts to notify users when we expect tickets to come on sale.

Some rail operators (naming no names!) consistently fail to load tickets on time, so we've changed our approach. We now check failing searches for the usual suspects every day and email you only when we're sure that booking has opened. This means that we send fewer alerts on a date-basis and ensure you don't miss out on the cheapest tickets.

We've also made it possible to manage your booking alerts online, so you have more control if your travel plans change.

Save your payment card or use PayPal

We've given the checkout process some love, adding new options to speed things up.

It's now possible to save your payment card, so it's only necessary to enter your 3-digit security code at checkout. Or if you want, you can avoid cards altogether by choosing to pay with Paypal. Both options will be available when you place your next order. And don’t worry, your data is as safe as ever - our fully-compliant payment provider securely stores your card details.

Combined with the ability to save passengers and tickets, Loco2 accounts now have more superpowers to make booking as fast as a high-speed train!

(Do-it-Your) Self-refunds

Even the best-laid plans can change so we've made it possible to request a refund at the click of a button.

Simply view your upcoming trips online to check your cancellation options and applicable fees. You can cancel tickets directly from your account where fare conditions allow. Confirmation of your refund will be sent within a few hours, and our team of train geeks are here to answer any questions.

Even if you didn't register for an account when you placed your order, if you use the same email address to register later you'll find all previous orders stored in your new account.
