European ski resorts by train

European ski resorts by train

It's possible to book trains virtually all the way to the mountain, so it's no wonder people are ditching planes and hopping on trains to many of Europe's ski resorts.

A ski holiday by train is a great way to avoid the stress of flying. And since it's possible to book trains virtually all the way to the mountain, it's obvious why so many people are ditching planes (with hidden fees and lengthy transfers) and hopping on trains to many of Europe's ski resorts.

With high-speed, direct and overnight trains to various rail hubs in the Alps, plus endless options for onward regional trains or bus transfers to your destination, the choice can be overwhelming. Consequently, we often field questions from travellers asking which railway station is the most convenient to reach their preferred resort - and over time have built up a list of resorts and their nearest stations.

We've input some of Europe's most popular ski resorts into a tool that reveals the nearest train stations to help you work out the best route. The list isn't exhaustive, so if your resort isn't shown or you have a better suggestion for any of the resorts we have included, please contact us.
